The RV-463 relief valve can be fitted
on systems producing up to 100 CFM ASME. For larger
systems up to 250 CFM use the Sentinel Large Relief Valve part
number 348-17. For systems with greater than 250
CFM, multiple
relief valves are recommended. Suggested setting for Relief
Valves is 2 inches above milking vacuum. The Relief Valve contains a
hard plastic to aluminum seat to prevent a set from occurring between
their interfacing surfaces. This feature ensures that the valve will
open reliably, even after extended periods of non-actuation. An
attendant characteristic of this feature is a very small amount of air
passage during normal system operation.
